The group gained attention at the beginning of their career with songs such as "Into the New World" and "Kissing You" but it was not until 2009 when they gained significant popularity with their hit single "Gee", which was classified by the online music store MelOn as the most popular song of the decade in South Korea (ranking based on chart performance). The group solidified their place in the South Korean music industry with follow-up singles "Tell Me Your Wish", "Run Devil Run", and "Oh!" from late 2009 to early 2010. In 2011, after a series of activities in Japan, the group returned to the South Korean music scene with "The Boys", which was released in three languages: Korean, Japanese, and for the first time, English. 2. Apink

A Pink (Korean: 에이핑크; stylized as Apink) is a South Korean girl group under A Cube Entertainment formed in 2011.The group consists of Park Cho-rong, Yoon Bo-mi, Jung Eun-ji, Son Na-eun, Kim Nam-joo and Oh Ha-young. Hong Yoo-kyung left the group in April 2013 to focus on her studies.
The group has released four Korean extended plays (EPs) and one studio album. They debuted on April 21, 2011, with "Mollayo" (몰라요; "I Don't Know") from their debut EP Seven Springs of A Pink on Mnet's M! Countdown. The group has also won numerous rookies awards at shows such as the 26th Golden Disk Awards, 21st Seoul Music Awards, and 13th Mnet Asian Music Awards. Their first music program win was on M! 2NE1 is a four-member South Korean girl group formed by YG Entertainment in 2009. The name, pronounced to anyone ortwenty one, combines the phrases "21st century" and "new evolution.[1] The band consists of CL, Minzy, Dara, and Bom.
First appearing in "Lollipop", a commercial campaign with Big Bang for LG Electronics, 2NE1's debut single "Fire" was released on May 6, 2009. Since then, the group has released two eponymous extended plays, 2NE1 (2009) and 2NE1 (2011), and one studio album, To Anyone. Their first EP spawned the number-one single "I Don't Care", which won them the "Song of the Year" award at the 2009 Mnet Asian Music Awards. Their follow-up singles, such as "Go Away", "Lonely" and "I Am the Best" were similarly successful, with "I Am the Best" winning 2NE1 their second "Song of the Year" award in 2011.
2NE1 officially debuted in Japan in September 2011 with a Japanese version of their second extended play as Nolza. Since then, the group has released one studio album, Collection, and two physical singles in Japan. 4. f(x)

The group’s music is best known for its fusion electro pop sounds.Introduced as "Asia's Pop Dance Group" on September 2, 2009, they released their debut digital single "LA chA TA".[4] In November of the same year, they released their first single albumChu~♥.[5] Then in May 2010, they released their first EP Nu ABO to growing popularity. After the members expand individually in the entertainment industry and the return of member Amber from hiatus (in June 2010), they returned with the their first studio albumPinocchio, released in April 2011. The lead single off the album gained their first music program win and was their first song to win the triple crown that led to its first repackaged album "Hot Summer", on June 2011 which led the group to fame and popularity.
A year after, they returned with their second EP Electric Shock. Electric Shock reached the number one spot on both the US and Canadian iTunes electronic albums chart soon after its release.[The lead single off their EP gave the group multiple recognition in the music industry. Electric Shock holds the record as f(x)'s song with most music wins.[
In March 2013, they became the first Kpop group to perform at 2013 SXSW South By Southwest. After 13 months from the release of Electric Shock, Pink Tape, was released in July 29. The group received critical accalaim & huge success, most notably being described "experimental, steeped in quirky, boundary-pushing electronic sounds with woozy harmonies", thus being the only Kpop album released in 2013 to be ranked as "The 41 Best Albums of 2013", by Fuse TV, an American music channel.Rum Pum Pum Pum swept all 9 Korean charts soon after its release, and most notably, the song ranked #3 on billboard's "20 Best K-Pop Songs of 2013".
In July 2014, the band released their third full length album Red Light to critical and commercial success. However, in the midst of promotions, SM Entertainment posted an official statement on the group's homepage on July 24 stating that Sulli would be taking temporary hiatus from the entertainment industry due to severe emotional and physical distress caused by "continuous, malicious comments and false rumors," but was still a member of the group.SM Entertainment scrapped all previously scheduled promotions for Red Light and instead had the rest of the group focus on their solo activities and group activities without Sulli. Red Velvet (Hangul: 레드벨벳) is a South Korean girl group formed by S.M. Entertainment in 2014. The group consists of 4 members: Irene, Seulgi, Wendy and Joy.
Red Velvet's debut single "Happiness" was released on August 1, 2014. The single was a moderate success; "Happiness” made its way up to number one on Genie’s real-time music chart immediately upon its release.
